Another Mother's Day is here. Seems just like yesterday, that we had a Mother's Day. It's really been a very busy year for our family. Our move from a busy Texas town to a very laid back atmosphere here at the lake, has proven to be a good move, but a busy one, as we re-construct and update our Cabin by the Lake.
Yesterday, I woke up with hives everywhere. Trouble breathing and chest pain and terrible itching under the skin. No matter where I itched, and it was everywhere, I couldn't relieve the itch. It also burned so bad, well, needless to say, I was having a reaction to a new medicine the docs had given me for my arthritis. We rushed to the ER, cause after a shower and tons of calamine, I just couldn't breathe very well. I was raspy and wheezing. Yea, it was time to see a doc. I had taken a Benadryl and by the time we made the 20 minute drive to the hospital, my itch was pretty well under control. I was disoriented though and couldn't even remember how many surgeries I had had, when the triage nurse asked. They got me in 10 minutes and gave me a shot. Told me not to continue with the arthritis meds and gave me some Prednisone. What a way to start your day, at 5:30 in the morning. We were home by 7:30 and I was in much better shape.
So it's Mother's Day and I cannot finish this blog without mentioning how blessed I have been in my life to have such a wonderful Mom. My Mom got me off to a good start and I must say, did a pretty dang good job on me! She is with Jesus now, and I miss her terribly! I always felt loved by her and I knew I could always count on her for a hug if needed and she was always great for a phone call! Geezz, I wished I could see her today, on this special day, but I know I will get to see her soon! I simply cannot wait.
My Mom's Mom, my Grandma, was a very special person in my life as well. Grandma was precious to me just like my Mom, and when we lost my Mom, I had the privilege to be able to care for my Grandma just before she too, went to be with Jesus. Wow, what two special women I've had in my life. I am so blessed by these two. Words cannot express just how much I miss them.
Being a Mom, myself, has been quite a ride, raising three SPECTACULAR gentlemen. I've done my very best to raise these handsome fellows JUST RIGHT and I still give my all to these precious GROWN men. That will never end. Not until my last breath. Wow, I am sooooooooo proud of them. Words cannot express.
Now it's my turn to be a Grandma, as the cycle of life continues. I am the proud Grandma to 3 grandkids. Ayvrie, Emrie and Flynn are the lights of my life. Ayvrie and Emrie are amazing little girls. It's been amazing watching them grow up over the years. They inspire me each and everyday.
And here is THE MIGHTY FLYNNSTER...he is my HERO! This one has a lot of FIRE in him, just like his Daddy before him, and I am having a blast being with him!
See just how very blessed I am and how this Mother's Day is gonna be a great one! I am looking forward to hearing from them all on this special day! Thank you to my Heavenly Father for giving me all THIS JOY!
