"Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying..." Who doesn’t love that song from Dionne Warwick in 1962 and re-recorded by Dusty Springfield in 1964? I am showing my age here but I can remember the song on the radio and my Mom went bonkers when it came on. Of course it was in the film MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING, one of my favorites! You say, well, what has this got to do with this bracelet? I was singing it when I designed it....end of story!
I used size 11/0 Delica beads, 4lb Fire Line fishing line and a toggle bar and ring for the closure. For the optional PICOT trim I used size 15/0 Miyuki round seeds in GALVANIZED YELLOW GOLD (#15-1053) and (2) size 2mm CZECH GLASS FLAMINGO ROUND PEARLS.
I used 10 different colors for a total of 2266 DELICA beads! There are 23 columns and 197 rows. The finished size of WISHING is 1 3/8 inches wide which includes the PICOT trim by 6 5/8 inches long before adding the clasp.
If you need to make your bracelet longer simply continue working the stripes at each end until you have reached your desired length.
I encourage you to find WISHING AND HOPING on the radio/phone somewhere and play it while stitching. Hopefully you will catch the VIBE I got while stitching!
